Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Discovrd is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive Discord discovery platform that empowers every user to find communities and bots that match their interests.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including:

  • Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
  • Hearing impairments
  • Motor/mobility impairments
  • Cognitive and learning disabilities

Accessibility Features

Discovrd includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Escape)
  • Screen reader compatibility: Semantic HTML and ARIA labels for assistive technologies
  • Color contrast: Text meets WCAG AA contrast requirements for readability
  • Responsive design: Works on various devices and screen sizes
  • Focus indicators: Clear visual indicators for keyboard focus
  • Alternative text: Descriptive alt text for images, server icons, and avatars
  • Theme support: Light and dark modes with proper contrast
  • Readable fonts: Clear, legible typography at scalable sizes

Known Limitations

We acknowledge that some areas of Discovrd may not yet be fully accessible:

  • User-uploaded images: Server banners and bot screenshots may lack descriptive alt text if not provided by owners
  • Third-party integrations: Discord OAuth, Stripe payment forms, and other external services may have their own accessibility limitations
  • Complex filters: Advanced search and filtering UI may be challenging with some screen readers
  • Dynamic content: Real-time updates (member counts, new reviews) may not always announce to assistive technologies

We are actively working to improve accessibility across the platform and welcome feedback on areas that need attention.

We Want Your Feedback

If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using Discovrd, please let us know. Your feedback helps us improve the experience for everyone.

Contact us:

Email: support@discovrd.org

When reporting an accessibility issue, please include:

  • A description of the problem
  • The page or feature affected
  • The assistive technology you're using (if applicable)
  • Your browser and operating system

We'll respond as quickly as possible and work to resolve the issue.

Third-Party Content & Services

Some content and services on Discovrd are provided by third parties:

  • Discord OAuth: Authentication flow controlled by Discord
  • Stripe Checkout: Payment processing with Stripe's accessibility features
  • User-generated content: Server descriptions, reviews, and bot documentation provided by community members

While we work with accessible third-party services, we cannot guarantee their accessibility. If you encounter issues with these services, we recommend contacting the provider directly.

Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is an ongoing journey, not a destination. We regularly:

  • Test new features with accessibility tools and screen readers
  • Review user feedback and bug reports
  • Stay updated on WCAG guidelines and best practices
  • Prioritize accessibility improvements in our development roadmap
  • Train our team on accessible design and development
